A Premier Football Experience Comes to King’s College Doha
King’s College Doha was proud to host a truly exceptional February Half-Term Football Camp in collaboration with the Newcastle United Foundation and ICON Sports, the first camp of its kind in Doha. From Sunday 8th to Thursday 12th February 2026, our campus was transformed into a hub of energy, enthusiasm and elite-level coaching, as boys and girls aged 6 to 15 took part in an unforgettable five-day programme delivered by official Newcastle United Foundation coaches.
Professional Coaching with Purpose
Throughout the week, students were immersed in a structured coaching curriculum designed not only to develop stronger footballers, but also well-rounded young people. Each day focused on:
- Technical ball mastery and control
- Tactical awareness and decision-making
- Game intelligence and positional understanding
- Teamwork, resilience and respect
The coaches brought the same philosophy and standards used within Newcastle United Foundation programmes in the UK, ensuring every child experienced authentic, high-quality football development in a positive and supportive environment.
Learning Beyond the Game
While the football was outstanding, what stood out most was the growth in confidence and character. Players encouraged one another, worked collaboratively during small-sided matches, and demonstrated increasing maturity in their understanding of the game. For many, this was their first experience training under international foundation coaches. For others, it was an opportunity to refine existing skills and push themselves further. Regardless of ability level, every participant left the camp having improved, learned something new, and built lasting friendships.
A Vibrant Atmosphere on Campus
Across the five days, our pitches were filled with excitement, laughter and determination. The combination of professional coaching, official kit, structured match play and a strong sense of community created an environment that truly reflected the values we champion at King’s College Doha. We extend our sincere thanks to the Newcastle United Foundation coaches, ICON Sports, and all the families who took part in making this camp such a resounding success.
