We take the wellbeing of our pupils very seriously at King’s College and celebrate a strong awareness of healthy eating across the school. Additional exercise is encouraged outside of PE and we run an annual Health & Wellbeing Week to promote a healthy lifestyle within our immediate community and beyond.

Lunch and snack boxes are often screened, while Kids Kanteen provide both healthy hot and cold meals on-site. Our School Nurse gives talks to the children about hygiene and how to take good care of themselves, and we enjoy visits from dentists and doctors throughout the year. We offer two co-curricular activities specifically related to mindfulness, including Philosophy of Art, and our wonderful library offers the perfect space for reflective thinking, while young bookworms and happy sketchers often occupy the building’s many nooks and crannies.

Linked to the school’s Safeguarding policy, a positive behaviour ethos and excellent pastoral care, evidence points to how this awareness of maintaining a healthy lifestyle fosters a positive and happy learning environment.
