King’s College Mesaimeer campus

The new purpose built King’s College Mesaimeer campus is located in the south of Doha, just a short ten minute drive from our current Al Thumama campus. It has been designed and developed by award-winning architects to offer the highest quality facilities and learning environment to our pupils. The new campus will cater for pupils from Year 3 to Year 13 (ages 7 to 18) with our innovative King’s College curriculum offered throughout, with formal IGCSE and A-Level examinations in Year 11 and Year 13 respectively.

Where is the new campus?

The new purpose built Mesaimeer campus is located in the south of Doha, just a short ten minute drive from our current Al Thumama campus and 1km south of Barwa Commercial Avenue. The campus is easily accessed via the F Ring Road and the Expressway as well as the new Bustan Highway, all of which are within a few minutes of the site.

What facilities will the new campus have?

Our campus has been designed and developed by award- winning architects to offer the highest quality facilities and learning environment to our pupils.

Year 3 to Year 13 Classrooms

Classrooms for Year 3 to Year 13 will be created in sections of the school which will be broken down by age group. Each area of classrooms will be accessible by 6m wide corridors which will house shared breakout learning spaces and lockers.

STEM Centre

State of the art Prep and Senior Science and Design Technology labs have been designed to be of the highest specification. This will enable pupils of all ages to have the opportunity to explore the world of STEM in an inspiring and innovative environment.

Art & Design Centre

An incredible range of art and design studios have been developed to instil creative thinking and skills across a broad spectrum of subjects and co-curricular activities.

There will be 2D and 3D art studios, a photography studio, digital design and innovation labs.

A state-of-the-art Performing Arts & Media Centre

A 400-capacity state-of-the-art theatre will be the centre-piece of the Performing Arts Centre which includes music technology and music ensemble classrooms, practice rooms and recording studios. The media centre will include a TV studio and green screen sound stage, control rooms and a digital editing lab.

Prep & Senior Libraries

A diverse range of traditional books and digital media is located within the dedicated Prep and Senior libraries. The innovative design will offer teaching opportunities, provide an inspiring space for group work and collaboration as well as for personalised learning and study.

Sports Academy

Over 17,000m2 of premium indoor and outdoor sport facilities will be available to all pupils at King’s. These include a double sized sports hall, 25m pool, dance studio and fitness suite. Our extensive outdoor facilities will include two full size football pitches, two junior football pitches, two basketball courts, netball and tennis courts, a cricket square and cricket nets.

Central Atrium

The heart of the campus is glazed, central atrium space. This bright and open double-storey space contains amphitheatre seating and will host dining, school assemblies, musicals and theatrical performances. It will be the interaction and meeting point for the King’s College Doha community and its visitors.

Reception Area

The double-height reception area will provide a warm welcome to all of our parents and visitors. It includes a parents’ coffee corner, digital displays and comfortable seating areas.

Landscaping

Outside there will be a large array of green spaces and shaded seating areas which have been placed throughout the campus to aid in creating a serene teaching and learning environment.

Who will be taught at the new Mesaimeer campus?

The new campus will cater for pupils from Year 3 to Year 13 (ages 7 to 18).

Our innovative King’s College curriculum will be offered throughout with formal IGCSE and A-Level examinations at Year 11 and Year 13 respectively. These are globally recognised and accepted qualifications.

IGCSEs and A-Levels will be offered across a full range of subjects to ensure that every child is able to choose areas of study they are passionate about. These include core subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths and English. Other subjects such as Arabic and French, Geography, Business Studies, Art, Drama, Design Technology and Music will also be an option.
