[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]King’s College Doha Girls Perform at the Opening Ceremony of the IAAF Games!

We are delighted to share news of a very proud moment for our King’s College Doha community that three of our students were selected to perform at the Opening Ceremony of the IAAF Games. Mia Boucher, Aferdita Manha and Afrah Manha were selected to perform as part of a group of just 50 students from across Qatar at the official opening of this global event. Mia was also selected to deliver part of the opening welcome in English and she even later shared a hug and chat with the brother of the Emir. This was a great honour for these talented and hard-working girls who coped admirably with the demanding schedule of late nights and early mornings. Congratulations to them and very well done for being such inspirational role models for all young people. Congratulations also to our amazing coach and vocal champion, Mrs Pyne, who commented how the girls’ voices, aptitude and dedication are opening incredible opportunities for them. Mia’s parents added their own words of appreciation for the support she has received:

“It was a fantastic experience for Mia to be part of the choir and the select invitation group on Friday during the IAAF Championship opening ceremony. This will be Mia’s third year singing with the Qatar Junior Choir and we firmly believe that these fantastic opportunities would never have been possible if it was not for the amazing guidance and mentoring of Alena Pyne. Alena is in a league of her own!  Mia also did musical theater with Corinna Mologni, another amazing mentor who has brought her to where she is. As parents, we are extremely proud and privileged to be part of the King’s family.

Your encouragement and generous support are humbling and highly appreciated.”
