Premium indoor and outdoor sport facilities at Mesaimeer will be available to all pupils at King’s, including a double sized sports hall, 25 metre pool, dance studio and fitness suite. Our extensive outdoor facilities will include two full sized football pitches, two junior soccer pitches, two basketball courts, netball and tennis courts, a cricket square and cricket nets.
Grassed Play Areas
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a fun and stimulating learning environment which occupies one whole corner of the site. Our youngest learners have their own secure entrance and play areas inside-and-out, each with their own door to the garden. All children have beautiful grassed play areas to play.
Our purpose-built Music suite, featuring a large, well-resourced classroom, five practice/teaching rooms, and stunning performance spaces such as the Atrium support our specialist Music tuition team and award-winning choir. A 400-capacity state-of-the-art theatre will be the centre-piece of the Performing Arts & Media Centre. Highlights also include music technology, music ensemble classrooms, practice rooms, and recording studios. The media centre includes a TV studio, green screen and sound stage, control rooms and a digital editing MacLab to assist in various skill-building capacities using Apple’s featured software.
A fully equipped medical room supports our full-time qualified nurse and enables us to take care of most non-serious ailments during the school day.
Spaces to Learn
The library is very much at the heart of our school. We stock a huge collection of guided and home reading books from The Oxford Reading Tree, which are specifically designed to help children become confident readers. These reading schemes support children from their first phonics steps right the way up to independent reading for pleasure in Year 6. A diverse range of engaging fiction, non-fiction, picture story books and digital media will be located within the dedicated Prep & Senior Libraries. The innovative design will offer teaching opportunities, provide an inspiring space for group work and collaboration alongside providing a dedicated space for personalised learning and study.
We have a dedicated Science lab for Years 3 to 10 with 100% specialist Science teaching from Year 5. Science activities for this age group help lay the groundwork for pupil understanding in the subject and ignite their passion for inquiry through hands-on lab experiments.
Our dedicated Lab is home to the latest technology and assists in various skill-building capacities. We teach coding and robotics and have numerous ICT clubs and co-curricular programmes to expand pupils’ interests and skills in ICT.
Unrivalled Sports Facilities
All of our pupils have access to our heated 25m outdoor pool with sail covers, providing shade that allows our structured swimming lessons to take place throughout the year.
Swimming is an important part of our sports and enrichment programme; it stimulates young children’s senses and is thought to improve both brain and emotional development. Swimming also supports a child’s mind/body connection as studies have shown that during exercise a child’s mind is stimulated, promoting further brain development.
Our high sporting attainment is attributed to our exceptional sports coaches and first-class facilities. Developments in technology have helped to bring on a wide spectrum of sports surfaces and we have been fortunate to create a custom-tailored hall to fit our specific requirements.
