Oona was educated in the UK and studied Biochemistry at Imperial College, London before training to be a teacher at the University of Cambridge. She also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management from the Institute of Education, London.
Oona has taught for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience ranging from large co-educational schools in the UK to a British school in South America. She has worked in some of the top UK Independent Schools including Putney High School as Deputy Head, and more recently, Ipswich High School for six years as Head. Over the years, Oona has made a significant impact including year-on-year improvement in GCSE and A-level examination results, transitional changes to become a co-educational school, the recent addition of Boarding, and launching a franchise school overseas. Under Oona’s leadership, Ipswich High School has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2019. During her time at Ipswich High School Oona also served as the Independent School’s advisor to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) consulting on GCSE and A Level reform.
Oona is a keen sportswoman and has played hockey at a regional and county level. She also has a passion for performing and creative arts.
