My colleagues and I were so proud to hear some news that set our academic community abuzz with pride and joy. Our Prep School pupils recently made their mark on the global stage at the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions, held at the illustrious Yale University.

In what can only be described as a phenomenal feat, every single one of our nine participating Beacons walked away with both gold and silver medals. Yes, you read that right – a clean sweep! This achievement is particularly remarkable considering it was our debut season in this prestigious competition.

The Tournament of Champions serves as the grand finale, bringing together qualifiers from seven international rounds and regional competitions spanning over 60 countries. Our pupils not only participated but excelled in this highly competitive academic event, showcasing their intellectual prowess and tenacity.

Just imagine our Prep School competitors, standing tall and proud, holding their own against the best and brightest from around the world! It is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the exceptional guidance provided by our Head of Gifted and Talented, Mr Mott. His strategic leadership has been a guiding force in nurturing and honing the talents of our pupils, ensuring they shine on the global stage.

This success is not just a win for our participating pupils; it is a triumph for the entire King’s College Doha community. It demonstrates the power of collaboration between teachers, parents and pupils in creating an environment where excellence is not just encouraged but expected.

As our nine Prep School competitors revel in the glow of this achievement, let’s take a moment to applaud the values they exhibited throughout this journey – resilience, teamwork, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Their success at Yale University is not just a feather in their cap; it is a beacon of inspiration for every member of the King’s College Doha family – no pun intended!

To our participating Prep School pupils and their supportive parents, who travelled with their children to Yale to witness this very special event, I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations. Your collective efforts have not only elevated the name of King’s College Doha but have set the stage for even greater achievements in the future.
